Manchester Airport - MAN Officially opened in June 1938 Terminal 1 was opened in 1962 by the Duke of Edinburgh Terminal 2 followed in 1993 Terminal 3 was opened in 1998 Runway 2 officially opened in 2001 by Tony Blair, making MAN the only airport outside of Heathrow with 2 runways 2004 – The newly built public transport interchange opened March 2011 – Manchester Airport was confirmed as the location for one of the Government’s ‘enterprise zones’ “We’ve come a long way since Ringway!!”
