2 THE OSH DATASHEET What is it? A Unique “Checklist” or “Tool” of Risk Analysis. Have two types of application for: -Jobs in medium and large enterprise -Occupations for informal workers or self-employed

3 Hazards Related to the Job Workplace Hazards – i.e. risks due to lack of hygiene in the workplace and services wellness e.g.: -Height and space of the job -Passageways and barriers -Sanitary facilities -Lockers and rest rooms -Drinking water facilities and meal time -Housekeeping and storage -Floor

4 Continues Accident hazards: -Hazardous objects -Stairs/ladder -Machine guards -Tools and equipment -Electrical gadgets -Boiler and pressure vessels -Lifting equipment -Vehicles -Work in high places -Fire -Lack or defective fire prevention equipment -lack or inadequacy of emergency exit -Lack or inadequacy of first aid

5 Continues Physical hazards: -Temperature -Humidity -Ventilation -Pressure -Ionizing and non-ionizing radiation -Noise -Vibrations -Electromagnetic fields

6 Continues Chemical hazards: -Hazardous substances -Cancer-producing agent (i.e. carcinogenic agent) -Asbestos -Silica -Waste disposal Biological hazards: -Micro-organisms (i.e. bacterium, fungus, virus, parasite, insect) -Animals as a source of occupational hazards

7 Continues Ergonomic factors: -Awkward postures and lifting -Reach -Seated work -Manual handling -Repetitive movement and/or strain -Fatigue -Computer -Hand tools

8 Continues Psychosocial risks: -Loneliness, especially when in possession of valuables -Work intensity and stress -Monotony -Repetitiveness -Bullying -Sexual harassment -Violence

9 Continues Organisational risk: -Working time and rest -Night work -Work pace Note: Gender perspective and analysis of risks is important to be considered to determine and disaggregate the damage to women and men.
