We are moving in a very positive direction. State top-to-bottom ranking: 2012: 46 th percentile 2013: 62 nd percentile 2014: 75 th percentile

Math Programming CMP-3 is our main resource. It is geared toward Common Core Standards. 6 th grade – Math 6, 6+ or Math 7 7 th grade – Math 7 or Math 8,8+ 8 th grade – Math 8,8+ or Geometry First track is grade level with Algebra in 8 th grade being the goal. Second track is advanced.
9
Math (continued) Support classes for Math 6, 7, and 8 will be available next year. These are taken in place of a world language or an elective. Math 6+ is an extra 10 week course to get all units in for math. This will most likely occur with Math 8+ as well but that decision has not been made.
10
Humanities (Social Studies) 6 th grade: World Geography and Current Events 7 th grade: Europe, Africa, Asia – geography, sociology, anthropology 8 th grade: US History Colonization – pre Civil War.
11
Science 6 th grade – Life Science 6 => Basic chemistry and biology 7 th grade – Earth Science 7 => Physical and Earth sciences 8 th grade – Science 8 => Basic physics
12
World Languages Spanish, French, and Chinese currently offered to 7 th /8 th grade Spanish and French can be taken for middle school exposure or for high school credit. Chinese is currently for high school credit only. We are studying the feasibility of offering German and American-Sign in the future.
13
Gym/Tech/Health/Math + Physical Education is offered for 20 weeks (1/2 year) The other half of the year for 6 th grade is 10 weeks of technology and 10 weeks of Math 6+ The other half of the year for 7 th grade is 10 weeks of tech and 10 weeks of Health 7. The other half of the year for 8 th grade is 10 weeks of tech and 10 weeks of Health 8. This will probably change due to the need for Math 8+.
