Corrections: “Change of Mind” requests will not be honored after June 3 8d. Make sure you list alternate elective choices!

Freshman, Sophomore and Junior students must be scheduled for seven classes daily. Senior students must be scheduled for at least five classes daily.

If you wish to add/drop a selected course, please see your counselor prior to June 8. Schedule changes after June 8 are limited to correcting errors or changes in graduation plans. AP & Pre-AP students may change courses under limited conditions described in the course guide.

Pre Advanced Placement (PreAP) courses receive a 10 point grade adjustment for each semester’s average. Advanced Placement (AP) courses receive a 15 point adjustment for each semester’s average. This information can be found in the course guide located on the high school website www.dsisd.txed.net

The GPA is the cumulative unweighted numerical average of final semester grades earned in courses for high school including all courses taken in middle school. The GPA provides a profile of a student’s overall performance in high school. The GPA is NOT used to calculate class rank. www.dsisd.txed.net

RICA is the cumulative weighted numerical average of the final semester grades earned in courses for high school credit for the core subjects of English, mathematics, social studies, science, languages other than English and advanced placement course offerings from other subjects. The RICA provides a profile of a student’s overall performance in core and advanced courses that will more accurately evaluate student performance relevant to their peers. The RICA is used to calculate Rank in Class (RIC). www.dsisd.txed.net

Sophomore- 6 credits including algebra I, English I, one required science credit, and one required social studies credit Junior- 12 credits including English II, geometry, two required social studies credits, and two required science credits Senior- 18 credits including English III All credits must be earned and reported prior to the start of school to be included when determining classification
