2 Springer | www.springer.com2 Elwin Gardeur | Licensing Manager valuable content wide range of eJournals advantage of direct access full-text less administrative work fixed annual fee indexed in databasesGoogle & PubMedownership Access easy integrated access on SpringerLinkquality of Springer’s publications well designed interface smooth conversiontowards a modern and well equipped Scientific Information Center For many years the Central Cancer Library had current subscriptions (print and online) to a range of Springer journals and book series. There always was a group of Springer titles we could not afford to purchase, but with valuable content of interest to our medical and research staff. The e-journal subject collections of Springer offers our end-users access to a wide range of eJournals with the advantage of direct access and full-text browsing for the users, less administrative work for the library and a fixed annual fee. The same holds for Springer’s eBook subject collections and Springer Protocols. Springer Journals, Protocols and eBooks are indexed in databases, such as Google & PubMed, both very popular search engines to our end-users, The ownership model Springer offers for the eBooks is important to us. Our (book) collection is unique in the Netherlands and serves as a reference collection in the field of oncology and cancer research. The expectations about Springer Protocols is reflected in the usage statistics during the trial period. Several monographs of the Methods in Molecular Biology and Methods in Molecular Medicine series have been purchased over the years and the library received frequent requests for these titles and recently published volumes. Access to these publications is easy: bibliographic coverage of the individual articles is covered by Pubmed and the integrated access on SpringerLink is self-evident. The quality of Springer’s publications and products is a prerequisite; easy access and well designed interface is much appreciated by NKI-AVL staff members. These products and publications contribute to the smooth conversion of the Central Cancer Library towards a modern and well equipped Scientific Information Center for Cancer Research and Oncology.” Quote: Suzanne Bakker, Librarian Central Cancer Library (The Netherlands) and President & Supervisor EAHIL Secretariat
