Android is an operating system and a software platform upon which applications are developed. Android does a software bunch comprise not only operating system but also middleware and key applications.

HISTORY Android Inc was founded in Palo Alto of California, U.S. by Andy Rubin, Rich miner, Nick sears and Chris White in 2003. Despite the obvious past accomplishments of the founders and early employees, Android Inc. operated secretively, revealing only that it was working on software for mobile phones.

ANDROID MARKET Android market is the online software store developed by Google for Android devices. An application program called “Market” is preinstalled on most android devices and allows users to browse and download applications.

ADVANTAGES OF ANDROID Android has a better app market. User friendly UI. More secure i.e. virus attacks are less. Many number of freeware application are available. Android keeps information visible on your home screen.

DISADVANTAGES OF ANDROID Android is Linux-based system so as to modify Andor, the user must know the commands on the Linux system and log on as administrator. Even to show recovery mode, an android phone has a different way. The lack of compatibility of all users of android phones, we must learn again if we replace with other brands.

On the Android platform they are an indispensable way to enable data sharing between applications. If your application becomes the first big hit on Android, the data generated could be easily shared. Android was designed to empower the developer to write innovative Applications.
