Remember: Make a PLAN. Spend 5 mins doing this – at least. Word choice is important so make a quick list of vocabulary related to the topic before you start. Use a mix of general, specific and personal information where appropriate. Don´t focus on just one aspect. Don´t overuse “in my opinion”. The reader knows it´s your opinion – you wrote it! If you are writing to explain then don´t argue. If you are writing to argue then don´t complain. Identify the purpose before you begin and keep it clear in your mind. Proof read your essay.

Over all Sections: Adapt Your Writing Do not just write a standard essay without thought to the appropriate style You may use casual expression if appropriate to the audience and purpose, but it must still be CORRECT expression. Do not swear or express extreme views Check your work for accuracy
