Campus Outreach Summer Courses (june-september 2010): 17 courses (2 jointly organized with the Colmenar Viejo and Tres Cantos City Councils and 9 in Miraflores de la Sierra, (Residencia La Cristalera) 595 students (+9% with respect the 2008-2009 edition) Seminars in La Cristalera (Miraflores de la Sierra). 2 seminars in 2010 (in collaboration with FUAM)

Concerts XXXVII Edition of the Ciclo de Grandes Autores e Intérpretes de la Música de la UAM (6 concerts). Jointly organized with FUAM Held at the Auditorio Nacional de Madrid Yearly Concert of the Orquesta y Coro de la UAM, also at the Auditorio Studying its extension to the nearby cities

Centro Cultural La Corrala Projects the CEI UAM+CSIC in Madrid’s center Calle Carlos Arniches 3-5, barrio de Lavapìés Renovation to be completed in 2011 Hosted “La noche de los investigadores” in 2010 Will host the Museo de Artes y Tradiciones Populares (moved from Cantoblanco Campus)

Disabled Student Support Services Sign language interpreter s Adapted Transport Service to/from campus. New tecnologies to adapt desks in libraries. Campus support and academic tutorship service. Personalized care assistance. Employment Counseling Program. Publications for awareness raising: “University Guide for Professors to attend Disabled Students” and “University Guide for Disabled Students”.

UAM’s Volunteering 2010 UAM as national coordinator and international reference through 3 national networks. 10 local and international volunteering programs 88 actions. 800 applications.

University community awareness on environmental issues. Areas: energy and residues management, biodiversity, transports and mobility, involvement. Projects and activities: both inside and outside of universitary campus. 30-35 volunteers per academic course Environmental Volunteer Fields Organization, in collaboration with the Autonomous Natural Parks Agency. Main goals: To incorporate the superior level vocational education schools (FP) to Campus of International Excellence (CEI). To create a data-base and a business map of Madrid North in order to facilitate the employability of higher education students (University and Vocational Education). CEI Aggregation of High Level FP

Strategic line 1: Incorporations of the superior level vocational education into Campus of International Excellence (CEI) Main actions: Student activities: internship at the Autónoma University, information days, study of convalidations between professional training studies and University Grade studies. Professor activities: Training courses (Firm entrepreneurs: Practical aspects of the planning in the Firm) and creation of educational innovative team works.

CEI Aggregation of High Level FP Strategic line 2: Data base and business map of Madrid North, containing Company directories Analysis of the following aspects: Number of companies and employees by location Classification of companies and employees according to the size of the company. Classification of companies and employees considering sectors and activities. Studies of employment and training needs.

Employability Programs Employability is a key concern at the UAM In 2008/2009 4.196 students finished their studies in the UAM Several employability agents Employability Observatory of the UAM Makes annual surveys about employability of our students 89,5% of the students finishing in the year 2008/2009 in the UAM got a job CIADE Guides and promoties the enterprising spirit among the students COMPANIES’ OPEN DAYS (FORO DE EMPLEO): Leading University job fair day in Madrid

Employability Programs: COIE Main employability and professional guidance agent of the UAM Key element for the first contact with a professional environment for our students Managed 570 employment offers 370 students completed their studies in those firms Signed 133 new agreements with firms to offer formation to UAM students. Manages the Orientación Profesional para el Empleo (OPEA) actions with financing from the CAM (t20% increase per year) focused on: Offering professional guiding to the students The promotion of self-employment skills among our students. Goal: to transform COIE into a more powerful employment agency

Collaboration with Local Councils Bike Lane Extend the bike path connecting the Cantoblanco Campus and the city of Tres Cantos University Accommodation Agreement under study with the City Council of Tres Cantos to build a University Residence in a Tres Cantos plot. Agreement with the SPA to offer a stock of dwellings for the university community in Tres Cantos municipality Joint use of Sports Facilities Complement the sporting activities offered at the Campus of Cantoblanco with the range of activities of sports centers in Tres Cantos
