Human Ovum [Egg] Largest cell in your mother’s body is released from her ovary. Egg travels down her fallopian tube [It will survive only 12-24 hours Some of the 500 million sperm from your father travel up into the fallopian tube. Only one penetrates the egg and the nuclei unite. You were called a Zygote. The Moment of Conception The Wonder of Life

At the moment of conception, you are a living human being. Each parent contributed 30,000 chemical genes that determined not only what you look like, but also your health, talents, tastes, athletic abilities, intelligence, allergies, and more! The Moment of Conception The Wonder of Life You grow into a hollow ball and are called a blastocyst and consist of 107 cells

On day 7 you had traveled to your mother’s uterus and implanted in its lining. At IMPLANTATION, you produced a hormone HCG [Human Chorionic Gonadotropin]. This hormone overrides your mother’s hormone cycle. So much is produced that it gets into your mother’s blood stream and then into her urine. {Positive pregnancy test] The corpus luteum continues to produce the hormones progesterone and estrogen that stimulate the uterus wall to thicken and provide nourishment. At the same time you produced hormones prevent the mother's body from rejecting it as a foreign tissue.

21-week-old unborn baby named Samuel Alexander Armas, who is being operated on by a surgeon named Joseph Bruner. The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother's womb.
43
During the procedure, the doctor removes the uterus via C-section and makes a small incision to operate on the baby. As Dr. Bruner completed the surgery on Samuel, the little guy reached his tiny, but fully developed hand through the incision and firmly grasped the surgeon's finger. Dr. Bruner was reported as saying that when his finger was grasped, it was the most emotional moment of his life, and that for an instant during the procedure he was just frozen, totally immobile. The photograph captures this amazing event with perfect clarity.

"Probably nothing has been as damaging to our cause as the advances in technology which have allowed pictures of the developing fetus, because people now talk about the fetus in much different terms than they did 15 years ago. They talk about it as a human being, which is not something that I have an easy answer on how to cure, “ - Harrison Hickman, pollster for the National Abortion Rights Action League at an address at their Twentieth Anniversary Celebration and Conference, October 1989, Washington, D.C.
