Why should you apply for a graduate position in Nordea? 14/04/2011 2 Characteristics: You get a permanent position in the biggest financial organisation in the Nordics You are hired to a specific position – from where you can chose to move/rotate (individual development plan) You get a unique introduction to the whole Nordea organisation You get a cross Nordic and cross organisational network

Recruitment process Application Assessment centre (ability test, interview and group work) 2 nd round interview incl. personality profile (3 rd round interview maybe with a case) In the process we look for people who: “Comes across the table” - express yourself clear Shows self-confidence and team play Forms opinions in a team Demonstrates professional skills and reflections You invest your talent – we grow together

The recruitment process – why did I make it through? The obvious parameters will get you to the assessment day: Education, application, grades and CV From then on it’s all about people Not just corny company values Proof: “You were average in test, good in case study, but not the best, but I really liked you so we’d like to see you for an interview.” (My feedback from assessment day) Interview: 2½ hours, three people interviewing Academic test? Not really Testing for drive and energy, engagement, opinions and curiosity. And selling water bottles… As my manager once said to me; “Anna, we don’t hire graduates based on what they can do, we hire them based on what they can do in two years’ time!” THE FACTS 28 years Graduate in Sales & Research (2012-2013). Now controller in Market Risk Graduated from CBS in 2012 Cand.Merc.Mat – GPA 9.1 (worst grade: 4, best grade 12) 5 years as a student assistant in Nykredit (Tele-sales, IT and Markets) 3 years in CMM study board Mentoring first year students 2 years as board member in CMM alumni association 27/11/2013 5

What is my best advice if you want to be a graduate? Focus on the job and the company, not just the graduate part Make sure you fit the description: Chose the right education (might be too late) Get decent grades Work on your CV, but remember common sense! Remember that it’s all about people, not just CVs What do I use the most from my studies in my job? Analytical thinking Economic and financial theory Risk and mathematical finance. And some programming... What is life as a Nordea Graduate like? 6 27/11/2013 What has surprised me about being a graduate? High involvement from management You truly feel like an investment (courses, certificates, etc.) The seminars were a lot more fun and useful than I expected Other people’s (very diverse) ideas on graduate programs…
