2 Outcomes WHY ARE YOU HERE? Your child has been chosen and registered on the P.E. department’s register for being Gifted, Talented or both. It is hoped you gain a better understanding of what is meant by the terms ‘gifted’ and ‘talented’ and that you will understand and help nurture your child(ren) further.

3 Knowledge and Understanding of a performer’s schedule and training requirements can help the JAE mentor and the school to effectively support the performer. This support can range from one to one mentoring, organisation of equipment, time away from school, helping with H/WK issues and helping performer to understand their training needs, diet etc

5 Defining the 5 abilities Physical ability pupil’s competence and fitness to perform a range of physical activities Cognitive (thinking) ability is shown in planning and compositional settings, as well as knowledge and understanding. Social ability basis of leadership, teamwork and similar concepts Personal ability self-belief and commitment to mastery Creative ability learner responds to challenges and tasks with fluency, originality and sensitivity to problems
