2. Goal of this Portfolio The Goal of this Portfolio is to express my passion for American History. Washington DC is my most favorite “history” city. It is the only place I can be a tourist, citizen, shopper, photographer, historian, patriot, and a connoisseur of good food all at the same time.

4. Artifact One: American Documents The documents that shaped America are amazing. I love reading and learning about the creation of each one. The picture to the right will lead you to many of the great documents that shaped America’s history.

5. Reflection on Artifact One I loved this website because it afforded me the opportunity to directly interact with American documents. At this site I can read the text as well as manipulate images of the documents. This hands-on website really helps me to be an historian. I get to “touch” the documents that are so important to America.

6. Teacher Evaluation of Artifact One Ann really is a great student of history. By discovering the our documents website, exploring it, and sharing it with others she truly has shown her love of American History.

8. Reflection on Artifact Two I am very lucky that I have been to Washington DC, 4 times. It is really my most favorite place in the world, I think. The pictures in this portfolio are from a trip I took last year with my mom and my sister. I love the Vietnam Wall, because it is such a sacred place. Abraham Lincoln’s death mast is cool. One of my role model’s is Eleanor Roosevelt because she was such a strong and powerful woman. The Washington Monument is awesome but I am afraid to climb to the top. My family believes that Washington DC squirrels are planning to take over the world. They are not afraid of anything.

9. Teacher Evaluation of Artifact Two Ann is very lucky that she has been able to visit Washington DC, so many times with her family. She has had the opportunity to experience history first hand and share her photos and stories with the class. Ann has a great historical perspective on America and is an excelent student of history.

10. Artifact Three: American Essay If I were to actually write an essay, I would create a link here. Just for fun, lets pretend that I wrote the essay and it is linked on this page. Wow! It’s great.

11. Reflection on Artifact Three I think I wrote a really great essay. I was able to express my feelings about being an American, patriotism, citizenship, and how important it is for me to be a good person in the United States.

12. Evaluation of Artifact Three Ann wrote a good essay. She could have spent more time developing a strong and provable thesis, than rambling about Washington DC, but she still covered the topic, “What it means to be an American” in a thorough manner.
