"After meeting from 1545-1563, the Council of Trent, called for by Pope Paul III, has agreed upon the following reforms in practices for the Roman Catholic Church: 1. The selling of Indulgences shall be strictly forbidden. 2. Simony, the sale of church titles (bishop, cardinal) is also forbidden. However, the following decisions are final concerning Church authority: 1. Only the Pope and the Church may interpret the Bible. 2.
