4 4 X 4 Hybrid Block Schedule  Kell High School will move to a modified hybrid block schedule. o YL = Year Long Courses that meet every other day for the entire school year on A day or B Day o Y = Year Courses that meet every day for a semester (Both A and B days) o.5 = Half a semester courses that meet for 45 days of the semester and part of a required pair

13  If a student and his or her parent /guardian don’t agree with the core placement recommendation of the 8 th grade teacher, a waiver form must be submitted to Kell High School counseling.  Waiver forms can be obtained in the Kell High School Counseling Department or on the Kell High School website (www.carltonjkellhighschool.com).www.carltonjkellhighschool.com  All waivers must be returned to the Kell High School Counseling Department by Friday, April 24 th.

14  All students will receive a 9 th grade course elective registration planning booklet to be used with their core recommendation placement on February 23 rd.

15  The NCR (triplicate forms) for official registration will be handed out by 8 th grade teachers on Monday, March 9 th. Students will have until Monday, March 16 th to return them to homeroom.

17  Beginning Guitar- No prerequisite required (not a pathway)  Drama 1- No prerequisite required  Tech Theater 1- No prerequisite required  Beginning Band- Teacher Rec. Required  Beginning Orchestra- Teacher Rec. Required  Beginning Chorus- No prerequisite required  Visual Arts: Comprehensive- No prerequisite required o Drawing and Painting 1, or Ceramics and Pottery 1 can also be taken if student took VA Comp in middle school
