2  Seed plants have two characteristics:  Have vascular tissue (tube system)  Use pollen and seeds to reproduce.  Pollen: contains cells that will late become sperm cells.  Seeds: contains a young plant inside a protective coating. Characteristics

3  Inside each seed is a embryo or baby plant.  Gets food from the cotyledons which surrounds the seed.  Seeds may also have a seed coat.  Seeds can be spread out by:  Birds  People  Animals How Seeds Become Plants

4  When a seed lands in a good environment, it can start to germinate or push out of the seed.  The seed gets water from the environment, and uses the food it has stored to grow.

5 Use pg 377 in your textbook to draw a picture of an embryo inside the seed. Draw
