Seed plants have two characteristics: Have vascular tissue (tube system) Use pollen and seeds to reproduce. Pollen: contains cells that will late become sperm cells. Seeds: contains a young plant inside a protective coating. Characteristics

Inside each seed is a embryo or baby plant. Gets food from the cotyledons which surrounds the seed. Seeds may also have a seed coat. Seeds can be spread out by: Birds People Animals How Seeds Become Plants

When a seed lands in a good environment, it can start to germinate or push out of the seed. The seed gets water from the environment, and uses the food it has stored to grow.

Use pg 377 in your textbook to draw a picture of an embryo inside the seed. Draw
