1 York’s Databases York College’s Library has several databases which contain articles that have information on different subjects. It is the job of the student to determine which is the best database(s) to use for a particular information need

2 Subjects The databases are often focused on one or more subjects. On the other hand, several databases are general, and they contain articles with information on many general subjects.

3 Newspapers vrs. Databases A newspapers, in general, have current information, and usually have the information without a great deal of academic depth. Thus, newspapers, and newspaper indexes, should usually be used to gain then current information.
