Community Service Project December 2015 – March 2016 Calling all knitters and crocheters! The NMPL Knit Wits invite you to participate in our Community Service Project. We will be making Chemo Caps and Prayer Shawls & Lap Blankets for New Milford Hospital and The Diebold Family Cancer Center. Celebrate Women’s History Month March 2, 2016 at 6:30 PM Enjoy a stellar performance by Gretchen Trapp titled “Women of Courage, Character and Commitment” in a one-woman presentation. Using various gestures, expressions and voices, she will portray notable women in history. Registration is required. This program is generously provided by the FRIENDS of of the FRIENDS of NMPL.

Stop by and find out how to use the new app for Axis 360 ebooks, OneClickdigital audio ebooks and Hoopla. (Note new time!) Bring your device, your library card and your questions. No appointment is necessary, just walk in.

Evening Book Discussion March 7 at 6:30 PM Abby Ripley once again will be the facilitator of this group and has come up with a terrific list of books for 2016. The book for March is “Light in August” by William Faulkner and the library will provide the books. The group is limited to 10 people, so please call 860- 355-1191 x201 to sign up.

Windows 10 Class March 7, 9, 16 at 1:00 PM Windows 10 is a free upgrade to anyone with Windows 7 or Windows 8 until July 2016.This course will teach you the basics of this new Operating System. This class will meet for 3 sessions and you must attend the first session to continue with the remaining sessions of the class. Registration is required.

Monday Movies at NMPL March 14 at 1:00 PM Come view foreign films and discuss them. This month in this free series we will feature “Timbuktu". The film is in French with English subtitles. It is rated PG-13 and runs 97 minutes. Light refreshments and a discussion will follow the presentation.

The Kerry Boys March 16, 2016 at 6:30 PM Join us for a spirited tribute to St. Patrick's Day with The Kerry Boys, Mark James and Pierce Campbell. Enjoy their humorous high-energy performances and engaging style of Irish ballads and sea songs. Registration is required. This program is generously provided by the FRIENDS of NMPL.

Friday Forum – March 18 at 1:00 PM in Memorial Hall This is our monthly series where we host a mystery book discussion group. This month's book is “A Clutch of Constables” by Ngaio Marsh. The group is limited to 15 people, so please check if there is room by calling 860- 355-1191 x203.

Science Fiction Book Group March 21 at 6:30 PM Marilyn Gunerman, a New Milford resident, has graciously agreed to be the facilitator of this group. All book choices are drawn from award winners. The group meets the third (3 rd ) Monday of the month in the Connecticut Room. The library will provide the books. The group is limited to 10 people, so please call to sign up.

“Eleanor” March 23 at 6:30 PM We continue to celebrate Women’s History Month with a talk on one of America’s most beloved heroines. Join us as Mark Albertson, historian and lecturer, discusses the impact Eleanor had on her moment in history. Registration is requested.

Independent Spirit Series March 30 at 6:00 PM Come and join us to enjoy our monthly series of popular, first run movies which lend themselves to lively discussion. Tonight’s movie is: “Brooklyn” Starring Saoirse Ronan, Emory Cohen and Domhnall Gleeson, the film is rated PG-13 and runs 105 minutes.
