NANMA Who We Are Nanma Foundation is a registered non profit voluntary organization based in Kerala; founded by Mr. Vijayan(IPS, winner of the CNN-IBN Indian Of The Year 2014 ) Identify, train, develop and handhold talent from the underprivileged sections of population and bring them to the main stream. Kindle compassion in resourceful persons and motivate them to empathize with the less fortunate. Build skills of MIND MASTERY, TIME MASTERY and GOAL CONSCIOUSNESS. Guide, mentor and handhold students to set life-goals for themselves, and motivate them to achieve those goals. Goals of NANMA

3. NANMA Who We Are More than 3400 students across Kerala have been beneficiaries of NANMA, currently operational in8 locations in Kerala. In Ernakulum district with support of BPCL Nanma was able to give support to over 1000 students across 2 units NANMA Nanma through its various programmes, attempts to uplift the under privileged youth by education, building character and inculcating values thus enabling them to be productive and competitive in the contemporary market place.

4. Previous Initiatives Operation Udaya Was operational in Udayanagar, an urban colony in central Kochi, notorious as a breeding ground for criminals and antisocial elements. Regular camps were conducted, awareness programs for women were organized Kids were put into schools and tuitions were arranged Operation Candlelight Commenced with a focus on education Children from marginalized society, with demonstrated potential to succeed were identified, and provided with bags, uniforms, books etc. A supportive environment was also created to ease the economic limitations for studying further

Current Initiatives CEEP Capability Exploration and Enabling Programme (CEEP) is a major project being undertaken by Nanma in the field of capability building of talented school-children from socially and economically backward communities. Focus Area :- Inner Strength, Attitude, Academics, Communication, Technology updates, Worthwhile Interactions. CEEP – June 2006 in Kochi – Innovative Learning methods – Volunteers from diverse fields – Major Partner is BPCL NANMA Learning Center A full fledged NANMA LEARNING CENTRE is being established at Puthoormadam, Kozhikode The NANMA learning Centre (NLC), an integral component of the CEEP, is envisaged as a fully equipped community center catering to all community members, and designed to facilitate the acquisition of a wide range of essential and contemporary skills by regular uses

6. CEEP - Modus Operandi Training classes are arranged for volunteers who are ready to support its activities. Selected volunteers are groomed to serve as teachers and facilitators to help children develop life skills, language skills and logical and reasoning skills. Regular tests are conducted to evaluate the progress of the children and certification is issued on the basis of their performance in these class as well as assignments. Students in the 8 th standard who meet certain stipulated criteria are selected to start the first year of the CEEP itinerary

CEEP – Stages of Implementation In each NANMA center, CEEP is implemented in stages Establishing Helpline for monitoring, guiding and counseling students Initiating CEEP for selected students with trained facilitators Organizing various awareness programmes prior to launch Selection of schools, teachers and students Formation of NANMA unit

ICT Training - Well equipped technology center that provides exposure to and training in various fields of ICT. - Internet and on-line Communication - Web Development & Content Creation - Cloud Computing - Multimedia & Computer Graphics - Desktop Publishing - Mobile Telephony and related matters - Cyber Security Personality Development - Training for students taking competitive examinations - Public speaking, debates, interviews, group discussions etc. - Language acquisition courses and workshops.

Activities at NANMA Learning Center Skill Development: - Fine Arts training such as painting, drama, music etc. - Craftsmanship courses in handicrafts, fashion accessories, interior design, etc. - Culinary workshops on health foods, food processing and preservation etc. Community Support and Outreach: - Counseling for parents, students etc. by subject experts in psychology and mental health. - Talks on topics of contemporary interest such as financial planning and management, career development, family matters, spiritual and physical development. - Organization of community events such as Arts Festivals, sports-meets, exhibitions etc. - Conduct of community medical camps, health awareness seminars and life style workshops. Historical and Cultural Heritage Promotion: - Conduct and disseminate research on India’s rich and varied heritage, culture, religious history, social developments etc. - Encourage an interest in traditional village sports and games. - Promote cottage industries by training students in traditional skills such as pot making, weaving, stone masonry etc. - Promote and sustain traditional folk arts and music by conducting research studies and training programs for students.
