© Ciena Confidential and Proprietary Page 1 MEN Network Management License Key Overview On January 31 st, 2011, Ciena migrated KRS from Nortel Business Services to the Ciena designed and owned Keycode Manager. These applications are used to generate licenses on the MEN Network Management solution. MEN Network Management is comprised of the following products: Optical Manager Element Adaptor (OMEA) Optical Service Provisioner (OSP) Network and Service Viewer(NSV) Wavelength Service Provisioner (WSP) Pre-Planned Wavelength Restoration(PPWR) TeleManagement Forum(TMF) The following slides provide a general overview of how to obtain software and licenses for the above products. Keycode Manager provides a secure environment for managing license keys.

© Ciena Confidential and Proprietary Page 2 Software and License Keys Software: All MEN Network Management software can be ordered via hard media (CD, DVD) Alternately, active releases of MEN Network Management software can be downloaded from the Ciena Portal https://portal.ciena.comhttps://portal.ciena.com Please consult the engineering rules in the OSR Fundamentals Guide to identify software ordering guidelines License Keys: All MEN Network Management licenses need to be ordered. Each software package is Encrypted so that the software is protected when downloaded from the Ciena Portal or when shipped on media. Decryption is done within the installation or upgrade procedure with the validation of the license (entitlement) file License keys need to be updated per release and are unique to each server. A unique System ID represents each server and can be obtained by running the System ID Utility on each server.

Please register via the Ciena support portal, https://portal.ciena.com, or your Partner Portal as appropriate. Click on the ‘Register’ button and follow the instructions to complete the process.https://portal.ciena.com To Download Software Loads: https://portal.ciena.comhttps://portal.ciena.com Click on the Software tab. © Ciena Confidential and Proprietary Page 5 System ID Keycode License Server Utility (SystemIDTool_Solaris10) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Keycode License Server enforces entitlements to software. You must install and run this utility on each server where the network management software will be installed. The output of the system ID utility is called a system ID file. Uploading the system ID file to the Keycode Manager registers your system and provides a unique system reference. © Ciena Confidential and Proprietary Page 6 License file A license file contains one or more keycodes. The keycodes represent the entitlement to use the purchased features. The format of the license file is XML Specifying a license file at the start of an installation decrypts the software, and renders it usable. License keys are unique to each server. Generally license keys are release specific, the deployment of a new release will require the purchase of an upgrade license.

© Ciena Confidential and Proprietary Page 9 Register System IDs for a new server When requesting the registration of a new server, the following details are required: System Name (choose a name that will uniquely identify the new target server in your network) City State/Province Country SystemID file (output of the SystemID tool executed on the new target server)

© Ciena Confidential and Proprietary Page 10 Generate license keys When requesting a keycode (a license), the following details are required: Purchase order number(s) for their order Part number(s), description and quantity to be used in the keycode System Name (name that was used to uniquely identify the server during registration) The most current keycode associated to this server unless this is the first license to be created on this server

© Ciena Confidential and Proprietary Page 11 Retrieve a previously generated license key When requesting to retrieve a previously generated license key, the following detail is required: System Name or SystemID file

© Ciena Confidential and Proprietary Page 12 Transfer licenses from failed server to a new server When requesting the transfer of a keycode (a license) from a failed server to a new server, the following details are required: System Name of the failed server (name that was used to uniquely identify the server during registration) or the SystemID file of the failed server. The most current keycode of that failed server All details listed above required for the registration of a new server.
