Quick Reference Guide Multi-Vendor Backup Setup Backup Installation on Agents 1.From the MV Backup Manager (must have the plugin installed/enabled), select the client, location or group. 2.Highlight the agent(s) you want to install backup software on and then right-click. Select Install Backup. 3.Highlight the appropriate software to install and click Run. 4.If the plugin loaded properly, the software column within the MV Backup Manager will display the software installed and a small red and white shield will indicate that the agent is now protected. Managing Jobs 1.From the MV Backup Manager, select Manage > Backup Job Templates. Click Add. 2.Select the appropriate software to use for the backup, then click Next. 3.Click Add to create backup destinations, if necessary. Otherwise, select source volume and backup destination and then click Next. 4.Complete the Backup Schedule. Based on the backup software, the options will vary. Click Next. 5.Complete the Backup Software Options. Click Next. 6.Click Finish when complete. Please note that when you use the Backup Manager to schedule a backup job, the remote agent has to check-in with the LabTech server before it is aware of the job. This can take several minutes based on your configuration and when the last time the agent checked in. To compensate for the possibility of a missed job during this waiting period, the Backup Manager adds five minutes to the scheduled start time. Adding Backup Jobs 1.From the MV Backup Manager, highlight the agent(s), right-click and select Add/Edit Jobs. 2.Select an existing job or click Add to add a new job and enter the backup job options. 3.Enter name of the backup image (only if using Acronis). 4.Click Save.
