1 “I Am” This poem asks you to describe yourself in specific ways for each line. Here are the line-by-line directions: 1st Stanza: I am (two special characteristics you have) I wonder (something you are curious about) I hear (an imaginary sound—be creative!) I see (an imaginary sight—be creative!) I want (an actual desire you have) I am (repeat the first line of the poem) 2nd Stanza: I pretend (something you pretend to do or be) I feel (a feeling about something imaginary—be creative!) I touch (something imaginary—be creative!) I worry (something you really worry about) I cry (something that makes you very sad) 3rd Stanza: I understand (something you know is true) I say (something you believe in) I dream (a dream you actually have for the future) I try (something you make an effort to do) I hope (something you hope for)

6 Synonym LOVE Attachment, adoration, warmth, adore Love is so pure, right down to the core. 1. Choose a word, any word. Write that word in capital letters on the first line. 2. Use a thesaurus to find three to five synonyms for it. Write the synonyms on the second line. 3. On the third line, write a descriptive phrase about the word. The second and third lines of the poem should rhyme.
