Speech marks are punctuation marks that show direct speech. They are also called inverted commas, because they are commas that are inverted or reversed to go around the spoken words. “ “

TIP: If your speech is at the end of your sentence, use a full stop.
If it isn’t, use a comma.

Rule 5. New speaker, new line. When another character begins to speak, start a new line.
