hedonism N The woman’s hedonism motivated her to buy the lovely perfume. Pursuit of pleasure, especially of the senses Syn: sensualism; debauchery Ant: self-denial; abstinence Thanksgiving is a time where Americans feel a great deal of hedonism. We eat, shop, and watch football.

obloquy N Her behavior brought shame to his family and obloquy to himself. Strong disapproval; a bad reputation resulting from public criticism. Syn: rebuke; reproach Ant: praise; acclaim Lindsay Lohan’s career has been tainted by her obloquy and poor decision making.
