8 PRACTICAL THINGS WE DO TO TRY AND ACHIEVE OUR ASPIRATIONS: Daily multi-disciplinary board round Weekly inter-disciplinary case discussion and education meeting Open visiting hours Mental health professionals as part of the team Encourage creative and innovative practice from staff On the job education by dementia specialists Communal areas on the ward for eating, socialising and activities Butterfly scheme and REACH approach offered to all patients

Commissioning of Engage & Create to provide immersive simulation session in one day programme. 890 people have accessed dementia education in the last 6 months Alive Inside has taken the trust out into the community with Public Screenings – ‘A grass roots dementia friendly initiative Series of Guest Speakers to raise profile of dementia education Reflective / facilitated discussion / Pledges / Actions This project will be presented at the Dementia Fellowship in June 2015 and we hope to host a screening at the UK Dementia Congress later this year.
