9. We get to use this technology in lessons to do research and find out information; to do revision; to have fun! It is VERY IMPORTANT that you only go on what your teacher has told you because they know what websites are safe to use Using the internet safely

11. You are searching on Google, when a website comes up that you don’t like. What do you do? Research

12. Close it immediately by clicking the red X in the top right-hand corner and tell your teacher. Research

14. Did you know that to join Facebook you have to be 13?

15. If you do have an account, you should only use it where an adult can supervise you – downstairs instead of upstairs. TOP TIPS - Only ‘add’ people that you know. - NEVER give out personal information (phone number, email address, home address, name of your school) -NEVER arrange to meet anyone you meet online.

17. TOP TIPS - Get an adult to check that your ‘privacy settings’ are appropriate. - Remember that anything you write on the internet stays there forever.

18. Cyber-bullying - Sometimes people say unkind things either on: Facebook, BBM, email, text, Xbox Live or Playstation Network

20. Tell an adult – either your parent or a teacher. We can help

21. BLOCK IT! Block people who do send nasty messages and never open attachments or links from people that you don’t know. They might have a virus and stop your computer working!

25. S - SAFE! Keep your personal information and passwords secure. Do NOT put private information on line!

26. M - MEET! NEVER agree to meet anyone you have met on the internet – they may be pretending to be someone they are not.

27. A - ACCEPT! Do not accept emails or messages that may contain nasty content or viruses.

28. R - RELIABLE! Information may not be true or someone could be lying about who they are.

29. T - TELL! Tell a parent, teacher or an adult that you trust if something that you see online worries you.

30. 1. I must always ask for permission before I use the internet. 2. I can only visit websites that my teacher has told me is suitable for me. 3. must tell my teacher straight away if I see something that isn’t suitable. 4. I must close a website straight away if I am not sure about it. 5. I will only email people that I have permission to.

31. 6. All of my emails must be polite and respectful. 7. I must tell a teacher straight away if I see anyone else using the internet inappropriately. 8. I must never give anyone personal details about myself. 9. I must keep my passwords private. 10. I am not allowed to use internet chat rooms.
