Livestock in Uzbekistan Livestock is one of the main sectors of Agriculture; The main sectors of livestock are the following: cattle breeding sheep breeding poultry fishery apiculture

Potential of livestock sector ■ Share of livestock sector in gross agriculture production is more than 40 % ■ Uzbekistan takes: ■ 1 st place on number of karakul sheep ■ 3 rd place on production of karakul pelts

For the past years (2006-2015), approximately 65 thousand highly productive cattle were imported from Germany, Poland, Austria, Hungary, Ukraine and other European countries. The main breeds of imported cattle: Holstein Friesian; Black Pied; Red steppe; Simmental; others.

The Institutional and Legal background for supporting Livestock Industry The livestock industry is totally owned by private sector; The livestock industry is supported by government, providing various privileges and preferences; The livestock vaccination against various epizootic diseases is fully financed by the state budget; The livestock sector of Uzbekistan has a strong scientific background

The privileges provided for Livestock Industry The import of breeding materials, components of compound feed, veterinary products, technology and equipment is exempted from customs duties; The breeding enterprises are exempted from all taxes; The cattle breeding enterprises are supported by concessional lending.
