Painted in June, 1889Dutchpost-impressionist Vincent van Gogh The painting is very calming. The work reminds me of a country night sky. Starry night relates to other ideas or events in the world because if your in an area with a clear view anyone can create their own landscape of a starry night sky just like Van gogh did.

The Starry Night is an oil on canvas by the Dutch post-impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. Painted in June, 1889Dutchpost-impressionist Vincent van Gogh In my opinion starry night is successful. I feel it is successful because there is a clear focal point which leads your eye throughout the entire painting. The work is original because it was created by Van Gogh and is a landscape of a image he saw himself and painted. I think this work is successful because the focal point is evident and the image is visually pleasing as your eye is drawn across the page.
