He was often criticized for his mishandling of the earthquake and tsunami. Many candidates were in the running for the newly vacant position but former Finance Minister Yoshihiko Noda was able to secure a victory in a run off election. His plans for Japan include rebuilding Japan and doubling the sales tax to jump start Japan’s economy. His election to office is significant because he is the sixth prime minister in five years and he stresses the importance of Japan-US security alliance.

9  Using pg. 16-17 in your textbook label the following on your map: Draw in the regions and color each a different color: -Mountains -Peidmont -Sandhills -Inner Coastal Plain -Tidewater Bordering States: -Georgia -Virginia -South Carolina -Tennessee Cities: -Asheville -Winston- Salem -High Point -Greensboro -Charlotte -Raleigh -Durham -Fayetteville -Wilmington Rivers: -Broad -Yadkin -Catawba -Black -South -Cape Fear -Neuse -Tar -Roanoke Coastal: -Albemarle Sound -Pamlico Sounds -Outer Banks -Atlantic Ocean Lakes: -Roxboro -Norman -James -High Rock

10  Color each region of the map a different color  Cut out the map of North Carolina  Paste it on a new sheet of paper in the proper form  Use pg. 456 to label the numbered COUNTIES on your map  Also, label the following cities on your map: -Asheville -Winston-Salem -High Point -Greensboro -Charlotte -Raleigh -Durham -Fayetteville -Wilmington
