Session Targets:  “Why” Instructional Rounds?  “What”- Basic principles of the Harvard Model.  “How” to begin your own network.

Why Instructional Rounds? What this is all about is 14 superintendents dedicating one full day per month for the sole purpose of improving student achievement. We feel it’s one of the most beneficial things we do.”- Karen McPhee, OAISD

Why Instructional Rounds? “The regional approach of Instructional Rounds provides a powerful antidote to the ‘win-lose’ approach of ranking and comparing school districts. We’ve come to the realization that working collaboratively to leverage our experience and know- how can improve the learning environment across district lines, promoting ‘win-win’ scenarios.” – Dennis Furton, Spring Lake

Why Instructional Rounds? We trust each other enough to open our doors to show what we are trying to accomplish with our instruction as well as take feedback on our work,” – Shannon Brunnink, Black River

Why Instructional Rounds? “Instructional Rounds connects us in positive ways that encourage collaboration. In today’s educational landscape, those that try to stand alone will only fade, and those that stand together will continually grow stronger.” – Keith Konarska, Grand Haven
