Project Plan for Lacrosse League

Who is the customer and who has authorization to make changes to this plan ?  The customer for this plan is a new amateur lacrosse league in Phoenix, Az..  I will be the only person who can actually make changes to the website itself.  The organizer of the league, also known as the commissioner, is the only person who can instruct me on what changes the league wants to make to the website.  The commissioner will have a meeting(s) with the head coaches of each team and gather the information that they want on the website. Then the commissioner will inform me what the league wants.

Who will be looking at the page (Audience for the page) ?  The audience for the website will be the league participants.  The coaches, players, and possibly friends, or family members.

Objectives for the Page (Selling something, information page, Entertainment?)  This page will be primarily an information page for the league participants.  There will be a page that will have the schedule for the games that will be played each week.  There will be a page that will have the schedules for each individual team.  There will be one or more links to supply shops in the local area where the players can go to find equipment that they may need.  There will be a contact page that contains information on how to contact the league and also a sitemap for the website.

What is the address of the competition and what do their pages look like ?  1) Arizona Lacrosse League (ALL): http://arizonalacrosseleague.com/ClientClubs.asp?org=arizonalacrosseleague http://arizonalacrosseleague.com/ClientClubs.asp?org=arizonalacrosseleague Not really competition for our league. This is the website for the local area high schools. Very nice website. Background is state flag. Very easy to navigate. Appropriate information. 2) Glendale Lacrosse League: http://glendalelax.com/ An okay looking page. A little on the bland site. The background on the pages that I clicked through had different background colors. White, light green, gray. 3) Ahwatukee Boys Lacrosse http://ahwatukeelax.com/ Not a bad website. Easy navigation links. Appropriate information. A little bit too much red for my taste, but the colors (mostly blue) seem to work well together and the colors were consistent from page to page.

What kind of media will you use ?  I will use jpg pictures.  I may have a video.  If there is any scripting, I will use Java Script (it is the only one I am even a little bit familiar with).  The user will have to click through to the different pages.  I doubt I will have any animation.

What will you have to create (content & media) and what will be given to you ?  The commissioner will supply me with the pictures the league wants to use.  I.E.- team pictures.  The commissioner will supply me with the schedule for each team.  I will have to create a video, sort of a welcome to the league type of thing, featuring the commissioner.

Estimate the time (amount of hours) to complete project (then multiply by at least 2)  I estimate it will take approximately 18 hours to do the rough website.  18 hours times 2.5 = 45  I estimate the total time to complete the finished website will be approximately 45 hours

How much time will they give you for development of pages ?  They will give me approximately 5 weeks to develop the entire website.  That means they will give me approximately 1 week per page.  That leaves approximately 1 week for final touch ups/changes before launch.

Where will the page be located (on what server?) Does the server have adequate resources to meet their objectives ?  The page will be located on GoDaddy.com  Deluxe Windows Hosting with Plesk package $161.64 (36 months) + taxes.  Unlimited websites, storage, bandwidth, free domain with annual plan.  That is plenty of resources for this organizations website.

How often will they want to update their pages. How many “free” changes will you give them to this project plan ?  They will want to update their pages weekly due to games being played every week.  I will allow them 5 “free” changes prior to launching the website.  Anymore than 5 they will have to pay for.  Any changes after launching they will have to pay for.

How much money are they willing to spend ?  They are willing to spend $2,500.00 on the project.  If I can complete the project in the 45 hours that I projected earlier, than  $2,500.00 / 45 hours = $55.55556 per hour.

Are there any problems that may complicate the development of this project ?  I don’t foresee any real major problems. The commissioner will have to get me the team pictures, schedules, etc.. The delay there may be how long it takes each team to get him the pictures.  There may be a delay if they have to change the dates on the schedule due to the city parks and recreation department double booking the dates for the fields or something, thereby causing a scheduling change.  Maybe setting a date for the commissioner to do a video.  Things should go smoothly with GoDaddy.com, so I don’t see a delay there.

Cost Estimate  On platowebdesign.com it came back at between $2,350.00- $4,700.00.  That estimate is for a 6 page custom design, responsive website.  The client wants to spend $2,500.00, so that would put it at the low end of the cost estimate.  I may have to inform the client that it will take an additional $500.00 or so to complete the project the way that they want it.
