The victim was going on vacation from 16:00 that day to Aug. 3 and was rather excited. The victim finished work with machine #4 at 14:40 and began cleaning the scrap paper compressor, hoping to finish it by 16:00. In principle, the scrap paper compressor needed to be stopped before cleaning. However, it was impossible for the victim to wait until the machine was stopped for him to finish the work by 16:00. Assumed cause of accident While the compressor was still working, the victim cleaned the inside of the hydraulic pusher with his head and hand inside it and when the pusher began operating, the victim had no time to escape. The hydraulic pusher’s cycle lasts 3~10 minutes and the victim presumed that he had enough time to clean it before it would start. However, it started sooner than expected and he was crushed.
