10 Diversity Development Institute Department of Psychology Diversity & Inclusion Training Certificate Total number of hours = 15 Core – 3 workshops (2 hours each) Discussion hours (4 hours) Other opportunities (5 hours) Personal statement

11 Broader Questions What is being done to improve quant training? – What happened to the discussion about partnering with the statistics department to allow Psyc grad students to pursue an M.S. in Statistics? – Will there be a Regression class next year? What is Bob’s perspective on strategies for us to feel more united as a department? What is the department’s perspective on the role of an advisor and how they should support a student’s academic progress? How does the department take individual lab/advisor style differences into account when developing criteria for research productivity on SAR? Do you think there has been a great enough push for this department to fit into the colleges new 'destination areas'? Do you view this as a great opportunity for the department, and what other potential opportunities do you see for the growth of the psychology department as a whole?

12 Specific Questions Is it possible to set up software distribution for graduate students? For example, most students would benefit from having SPSS or Microsoft Office distributed to them (Many pay for these products themselves). The computer lab is a wonderful resource, but often inconvenient. Would it be possible to organize some kind of grant writing seminar for graduate students? It seems as if there is not enough exposure to this realm of academia in the program. For those grad students who are instructors on record, what is the policy on taking volunteer, undergraduate TAs (who have taken the class in the past) to help with grading?
