5 5 Careers What makes a good CV? 1.Meeting the person specification Address all the skills in the person spec by using a specific example for a skill Don’t be vague: ‘Team work: group presentations’ (0 points) Be specific: ‘Team work: collaborated with 3 others over 2 weeks to put together and present a presentation on a given topic.’ (2 points)

7 7 Careers Use numbers to quantify your skill example Show outcomes where possible: where did you add value? Use all sections to show how you have skills rather than having a separate skills section: interests, achievements, education, work experience, volunteering. You can address the skill as many times as you have examples for it
