1.Anthropology The study of human behavior in societies The study of culture- the arts, beliefs, habits, institutions that are characteristic of a specific community, society or nation It observes behavior in its natural setting It looks at the diversity of behaviors

2.Sociology The social science that explains the behavior of individuals in social groups, families and society Looking at adolescence and youth in Canada Patterns of behavior in large groups, rather than in individuals Stats Canada uses sociological methods to gather info about Canadians to produce demographics

3.Psychology Study of behavior based on mental processes Focuses on how the individual thinks Ex: Piaget studied cognition in children by observing them in natural and experimental settings Use the personality to explain individual behavior Desire to conform to ‘popular’ pressure affects behavior
