I would recommend Linux SuSe for home use for the following reason I have it in a virtual setting and the user experience just keeps getting better and better. It uses Yast for installation and the installation process is really easy. It offers the latest version of KDE and GNOME window managers and the latest Linux kernel and Firefox browsing. It includes OpenOffice and supports virtualization. Yast makes it easy to update software, configure hardware, install new packages, and otherwise configure SuSe. Yast is incredible.
