REGISTRATION BASICS Registration Packets available online: Click Parents, Under Register a Child, Click Forms needed Forms: Student Registration Health Information Emergency Care Information Home Language Survey Criminal Conviction Pre-Kindergarten Survey State Physical (completed by Healthcare Provider) Additional Documentation Required to Register: Proof of Residence – Deed or Lease Birth Certificate Registration: Any school day between 9:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., or by appointment. School Hours: Monday–Friday: 8:50 a.m. – 3:35 p.m. May change for Decided by the Office of Transportation School Year Calendar: Transportation to and from School: A student transportation card will be provided by GFES in the Open House packet. Information provided will let teacher know if child will be going home via: School bus Private transportation (Kiss & Ride) SACC – School Aged Child Care Kindergarten students identified by colored tape on backpack shoulder ellen

School Bus: Bus service is provided for children who live within our school boundaries Routes are decided by the Office of Transportation. Student picked up at stop closest to his/her home Notification of assigned bus # and bus stop will be received before the start of school Students escorted to their assigned bus by safety patrols Sit in front section of school bus A parent, designated adult, or sibling in middle school or older, must be present at the assigned bus stop to receive the kindergartner Ellen

Daily 5 The Daily 5 is the instructional framework that allows for differentiated instruction. This is to foster independence in literacy skills. The students are actively engaged in one of the five components of the Daily Five: Read to Self; Read to Someone; Listen to Reading; Work on Writing and Word Work. The teacher works with small groups for guided reading instruction.
