VOCABULARY Depolarization: When a nerve impulse stimulates ion channels to open, positive ions flow into the cell and cause depolarization, which leads to muscle cell contraction.Depolarization: Fibrillation: Very rapid irregular contractions of the muscle fibers of the heart resulting in a lack of synchronism between heartbeat and pulse Fibrillation:

VOCABULARY CONTINUE SA Node: Heart natural pacemaker. consists of a cluster of cells that are situated in the upper part of the wall of the right atrium (the right upper chamber of the heart). Tachycardia: An abnormally rapid heart rate Bradycardia: Abnormally slow heart action
