MAXIMUM DEMAND TIME OF USE INCENTIVES Peak Time:18:00 to 22:00 Off Peak Time:22:00 to 06:00 Standard Time:06:00 to 18:00 –Standard time is charged at rates as per chart –Peak time consumption is surcharged at 25% for both capacity and energy –Off Peak consumption is charged at 50% discount for capacity and 25% for energy 6/8/2016
9
TYPICAL DAILY LOAD CURVE
10
ENERGY EFFICIENCY STUDIES HAVE SHOWN UP TO 20% SAVING OF THE DOMESTIC ELECTRICITY DEMAND REDUCTION IN ENERGY UTILISATION CUSTOMER SAVES MONEY IMPROVEMENT IN PRODUCTION ENHANCE COMPETITIVENESS INCREASE MARKET SHARE ENERGY EFFICIENCY 6/8/2016
11
SECURITY/OUTDOOR LIGHTING HOMES, HOTELS, INDUSTRY Save 80% by replacing ML 160w with Master Ecotone 45w/65w lamps
12
COMMERCIAL INSTALL ROOM OCCUPANCY SENSORS – to switch off lights & air-conditioning in unoccupied rooms INSTALL POWER FACTOR CORRECTION EQUIPMENT (where lots of electric motors are in use) REPLACE ORDINARY BULBS WITH ENERGY SAVERS (CFLs) REPLACE MERCURY VAPOUR LAMPS WITH METAL HALIDE LAMPS (45W/60W FOR 160W) FOR OUTDOOR LIGHTING
13
ROOM OCCUPANCY SENSORS INSTALL IN EACH ROOM SWITCHES OFF LIGHTS & AIRCONS IN UNOCCUPIED ROOMS
14
INDUSTRIAL INSTALL ELECTRIC MOTOR OPTMISERS ON BIG MOTORS USE VARIABLE SPEED DRIVES (VSDS) FOR PULLEY COUPLED DRIVES INSTALL POWER FACTOR CORRECTION EQUIPMENT(CAPACITOR BANKS) DO NOT START ALL YOUR MACHINES AT THE SAME TIME TO AVOID CREATING LOCAL PEAK LOADS ARREST ALL COMPRESSED AIR LEAKS INSULATE ALL STEAM PIPES CORRECTLY
15
INTELLIGENT BECAUSE IT MATCHES POWER INPUT TO SHAFT LOAD SAVES UP TO 40% ENERGY HAS INBUILT SOFT START/STOP REDUCES INRUSH CURRENTS 6/8/2016 INTELLIGENT MOTOR CONTROLLERS
16
FLOOR MOUNTED CAPACITOR BANK Power factor correction Reduces KVA input Save up to 15% energy
17
VARIABLE SPEED DRIVES (VSD ) SAVE UP TO 15% ENERGY CONTROL MOTOR OPERATIONS IN RELATION TO LOADING AND UTILISATION
18
OUTDOOR LIGHTING: USE METAL HALIDE LAMPS REPLACE THE INEFFICIENT MERCURY VAPOUR LAMPS WITH METAL HALIDE LAMPS 400W/250W MV LAMPS WITH 160W METAL HALIDES CAN BE USED IN STREET LIGHTING AND OUTDOOR LIGHTING METAL HALIDES HAVE INBUILT SENSORS TO RUN DIM WHEN NO TRAFFIC ON ROAD ENHANCED BRIGHTNESS
19
CONCLUSION ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN CUSTOMERS’ LONG TERM INTEREST CUSTOMER SAVES ENERGY CUSTOMER SAVES MONEY IMPROVEMENT IN PRODUCTIVITY AND EFFICIENCIES ENHANCE COMPETITIVENESS OF INDUSTRY SAVED ENERGY CAN BE USED FOR OTHER DEVELOPMENT NEEDS CONTRIBUTE TO DEVELOPMENT OF COUNTRY- SAVED RESOURCES CAN BE DEPLOYED ELSEWHERE 6/8/2016
