4. Donning and Adjusting Always give your harness & containers a thorough inspection before donning If jumping a kit bag, have it folded and on the parachute before donning When adjusting CPS Military Solo System for an operation, wear your jumpsuit and gear intended Use unit SOP for floatation

5. Donning The CPS Military Solo System  Donning and Adjusting the CPS Military Solo System can be accomplished by one jumper. However, during this course you will use the buddy system  When wearing O2 it may be easier to put the parachute on your back while sitting down

6. Donning and Adjusting There are 8 points of adjustment The chest strap 2 main lift webs (right & left) 2 horizontal side adjusting straps (right & left) Waist strap Leg straps (right & left)

7. Donning and Adjusting Step 1 Undo all excess slack from retainers Loosen all 8 points of adjustment and size accordingly

8. Donning and Adjusting Step 2 Your buddy holds the CPS Military Solo System so the jumper can don the CPS Military Solo System while standing

9. Donning and Adjusting Step 3 The jumper loosely secures the chest strap through the chest strap friction adapter Leave all excess webbing un-stowed at this time

10. Donning and Adjusting Step 4  The jumper bends forward at the waist until upper body is parallel to the deck  Your buddy places the container as high up on the jumpers back as possible  Carrying handle should rest at the base of the jumpers neck  Your buddy positions kit bag (if worn) in the small of the jumpers back, handles to the left

11. Donning and Adjusting Step 5 Your buddy passes the leg straps to the jumper ensuring they’re not twisted The jumper connects the quick ejector snaps to the V-ring over comfort pad The jumper tightens the leg straps ensuring the comfort padding rests on the inner portion of the thigh

12. Donning and Adjusting Step 6 (Points of reference) The jumper then adjusts the main lift web until the base rings rest in the hollow of the shoulder As the jumper stands up, the stitching blocks on the leg straps should rest on top of the hip bones

13. Donning and Adjusting Step 7 The jumper attaches the waist strap so the container does not shift from side to side Both kit bag handles (if worn) should be through the left side waist strap behind the friction adapter The waist strap is usually routed over all accessory pouches and weapons

14. Donning and Adjusting Step 8 The jumper grasps both horizontal side adjustment straps and pulls them to snug the container to the jumpers back

15. Donning and Adjusting  Once all final adjustments have been made, stow all excess straps inboard  The main lift webs excess are rolled outboard and stowed

16. Combat Equipment  C/E will be rigged for front mount  Lowering line will attach to the lower right side equipment ring  Lowing line will be 8 ft. length  Use all heavy duty retainer bands  Double retainer band around lowering line  A heavy duty retainer band will be doubled over the quick ejector snap of the lowering line

17. Combat Equipment  All PDBs must receive two Jumpmaster checks before loading the aircraft.  Combat equipment can be carried to the aircraft and secured on the deck in front of your seat

18. Attaching Combat Equipment When briefed to attach equipment, stand up and place the ruck on the seat in front of you Immediately attach the lowering line to the lower right side ring Next, route the shoulder straps around your legs and attach them to the Fastex buckle

19. Attaching Combat Equipment Hook the equipment attaching snaps to the large upper equipment “D” rings and cinch them down as tight as possible Upon receiving the “Stand Up” command, tighten equipment shoulder straps and stow the excess
