Set-up Information File New and the window to the right comes up Presets : Allow you to choose how you will set up your File. If you choose US Paper, all the defaults for US Paper come up. However you can also choose: Resolution If the Image is for something that will be printed always use 300 If the Image is for the Web use 72 for the resolution. To Save for Web and Devices File Format File Save for Web and Devices and Save As a JPEG or GIF JPEG JPEG Always used for Photos 256 Colors per Pixel GIF GIF used for indexed images, Good for logos, Illustrations, line Art or Cartoons. If they ask you to resample using the Best resampling method use the Resample Image drop down menu, and click the one they are asking for. The Size is too big 24.0 M When we flatten an image we loose the ability to make changes you will not be flattening Layer Menu and Select Flatten Image and your picture becomes one layer and you cannot make any change, but the size of your document becomes 7.66 Flattening is Bad we only do it to save on size and to save a copy To shrink the Image Go to Image Menu and Click Image Size 1.Change width to 1000 pixels 2.Make sure Resample Image is Checked. 3.When you change the Width the Height automatically changes to 670 ( this happens because the constraints are locked they change together.) 4.Click the Drop Down Arrow next to Bicubic (best for smooth gradients) and Select Best for Reduction.
