HOMEWORK Students in 4th grade should have no more than 40 minutes of homework per night. Your child might bring home: 10 minutes of Math: Daily Math Homework, (5 problems due each night Monday- Friday 20 minutes of Reading: reading from a chapter book 10 minutes: Any other work that was not finished during class time or corrections on graded work. When your child is sick, time for make-up work will likely exceed the 40 minutes of normal evening work. This work is expected to be completed and returned. Work Corrections: When graded work is returned, your student may correct mistakes and return the assignment for a better grade. Corrections on homework are worth full credit. Corrections on tests are worth half credit. This will help your student learn from mistakes, and to realize that a big part of earning good grades includes having a strong work ethic.
