UNICOS (UNified Industrial COntrol System): Provide components, methodology and tools to design control systems. The UNICOS components are distributed in three layers: –The process control layer –The communication layer –The supervision layer Reduce the workload for the application developer.

Light weight Have the main functionality of the PVSS part in UNICOS Easy to use, set up, modify and expand Works without any major changes to UNICOS PLC code Runs on LabVIEW 8.6 with DSC under Windows XP

Some control systems are only expected to exist for a short period of time Others are small and simple Lack of time, manpower and resources to invest in PVSS It is intuitive, graphical, easy to learn, use and debug
