WALT - Complete development of a solution page and understand it. Understand how to plan development practical sessions. Be able to set up and record a fair test. Plan the next half terms deadlines. Which product to choose to develop? It must have been made in your generation of ideas. It must have 3 separate sections eg lasagne meat sauce, cheese sauce and pasta. It must be able to match your design brief requirements. FOOD TECHNOLOGY GCSE.

How do I record a development ? FOOD TECHNOLOGY GCSE. While you are working, record your consumers views in a table in your target book. Then write these up in your coursework. Make sure your consumers have a glass of water to clean their palette, you may want to do blind fold food tasting. Make sure you take digital images of all your tests and stages of testing.

What do I do now ? FOOD TECHNOLOGY GCSE. You now need to plan your developments, discuss them with me. You also need to complete the development of a solution page to introduce this section of your coursework. Deadline for ten tests to be completed by 19.11.09.

Examples of developments. FOOD TECHNOLOGY GCSE. Lasagne - different vegetables; vegetable sizes and shapes; different meats or meat substitutes; different herbs; homemade pasta compared to shop bought; fresh pasta compared to dried pasta, tomato, spinach, black pasta; different tomatoes or pasatta or tomato puree; different viscosity of sauces; different methods of making sauces; different cheeses, milks, fats, flours; different sizes and shapes of final product; different salads or dressings to serve it with.

What dates can I complete developments and final practical? FOOD TECHNOLOGY GCSE. Tues/ Weds/ Thurs lessons. 3/11/09, 4/11/09, 5/11/09. 9/11/09, 10/11/09, 11/11/09. 17/11/09 - mock exam prep sheet issued and revision pack, also explain final prototype practical. 18/11/09, 19/11/09 - parents evening. 24/11/09 - check plans for final prototype practical. 25/11/09, 26/11/09 - Final prototype practicals.
