Agenda Housekeeping: Turn in Process Notes for Pop Art May 14 ART SHOW (from 3:00-5:00 pm, must stay 45 minutes; 50% of your FINAL EXAM grade) Clipping Masks Final Project!! ◦ Read Rubric ◦ Due Dates and Samples Final Project Work Time Homework: ◦ Have 20-25 of your own photos you want to use for the Final Project ready for next class. (Saved to computer drive, flash drive, or emailed to self as individual JPEG files)

Clipping Masks Clipping Masks allow you to view parts of an image on a higher layer through the content of the “base layer”

Layers Palette: Clipping Masks The “base layer” is the silhouette your images will be inside of when you create the clipping mask Images you want inside the clipping mask will always be in layers above the “base layer” VW ad

Pictures to Look For… 1. Baby/Kid Pics could equal “Kid’s Movie” 2. Holiday Pics = “Christmas Vacation” type movie 3. Dressed Up/Dance = “Spy Movie/Bond” 4. Sporty Shots = “Remember the Titans/Sporty Movie” 5. Playing Guitar Hero Pics = Band Poster Get creative! What kind of movies do you like? What kind of pics do you have to work with?!

Work Time Final Project Today work on getting your Poster Piece Started ◦ Pick an overall theme ◦ Brainstorm what images, colors, design styles fit your personality ◦ Sketch out/write out ideas for theme and layout (what pictures will you need to bring in? Take Process Notes as you work! Check rubric as you work!

Homework: Have all pictures you want to use for this Final Project ready to scan next class. (You could also scan ticket stubs, comic covers, anything 2-D we can squish on the scanner!)
