3. Oakland Catholic scored first and never looked back defeating Seton LaSalle 14-10. Bella Alampi, Natalie Cyterski, and Kat Smith each had 3 goals, Mary O’Brien had 2, and Maggie Halferty, Megan Cyterski, and Elizabeth Walsh all added 1. Julia Lewand and Siena DeAngelo each had 4 ground balls. Mary Beth Miller had 14 saves. The JV came back to tie the game, 5-5. With tow goals by Hannah Baranowski and 1 goal each by Kate Doyle, Caroline Ciocco, and Jackie Goldcamp. Polly Farnsworth had 7 saves.

4. Cancer Awareness Club’s Cancer Awareness week continues through the 13th. Look on edmodo for each day’s color that corresponds with a certain cancer. You will be allowed to wear socks and accessories that correspond with the day’s color.

5. Cancer Awareness Week Today’s color is green for liver cancer, remember you may wear socks, headbands, and accessories of that color. Fact of the day: Men are twice as likely as women to get liver cancer.

6. Tomorrow’s color is pink for breast cancer, remember you may wear socks, headbands, and accessories that color; Fact of the Day! One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

7. Attention Seniors "Final Transcripts Forms" are due in Guidance asap. If they need a form we have extras in Guidance.

8. Cheerleading Try-outs will be held on Tuesday May 17 from 6-8 pm in the Aux gym. All athletes are to wear a white top, black shorts, cheer shoes and a ponytail. Parents seeking more information should e- mail cheer@oaklandcatholic.org

10. Congratulations, Athena Pyros Athena is the recipient of the WPIAL Quad A Scholarship.

11. Seniors, Stephanie Harington and Kellsey Medsger are the recipients of this year's Central Blood Bank Scholarship award. The award is made to seniors with the highest GPA and who donated blood at both blood drives this school year. Each girl received $500 toward their college expenses.

12. Class officer candidates- You will be giving speeches to your class on Monday, May 23. Please send a copy of your speech to Mrs. Benedik at lbenedik@oaklandcatholic.org and to Miss Marchese at nmarchese@oaklandcatholic.org by Wednesday, May 18.

13. All students who took art last semester may pick up their art projects from the art room.

14. Due to the AP Tests, The hallway outside the lecture hall will close at 7:50 and reopen between third and fourth period and then again for the rest of the day after 6th period.

15. Today is Day 3 of our Diaper Drive! Diapers are one of the most urgent needs of many families. Please support babies and life by bringing in a package of diapers. Bins are outside of the Guidance office.
