Sugar is bad before sports because: Sugar has no nutritional value. Sugar gives you bad energy. At first you are really hyper, and then you wind down, and crash soon after. You can’t sustain energy with sugar. If you have an hour game you might crash midway through, or right after, it depends on when you eat the sugar.

Some foods that are good are: Fruits (All natural sugar) Carbs (Pasta, bread, potatoes, chips, petzels. {Not too many carbs.}) Protein (Poultry, eggs, various meats) Some fats A good tip: Don’t eat right before the game. (If you have a game at 2:00, eat at 11:00 or 12:00.)

Remember to eat good foods before games or practice. Everyone wants to perform better. You need to find what type of good, nutritional foods work best for you. It might take you awhile, but it will all be worthwhile in the end. Don’t resort to sugar because it give you energy! In other words, eat healthy, don’t make a mistake and you’ll do fine.
