7. conditions apply to animals of species listed in Annex I –small change related to birds and lagomorphs accompanying its owner or an authorised person and remaining under his responsibility moved for non-commercial purposes –’which does not have as its aim either the sale of or the transfer of ownership’ –movement of ‘pet’ to take place 5 d earlier/later than the movement of the owner max number of animals (dogs, cats, ferrets) shall not exceed 5 –derogation if participating in competitions, exhibitions, sporting events or in training for such events; –animals need to be registered to attend such an event or with an association organising such events; and –animals are more than 6 months old possibility to set a max number to pets of other species by delegated act Non-commercial movements of pet animals into EU

8. Part A: Dogs, cats and ferrets may enter EU territory only through traveller’s point of entry  MS may provide a derogation for registered military or search-and-rescue dogs from all third countries –divided into three groups: PART 1 & 2 and ‘the rest’ Dogs, cats and ferrets need to be marked by a transponder or tattoo (applied before 3.7.2011) have received an anti-rabies vaccination when at least 12 weeks old  MS may authorise entry of animals less than 12 weeks without vaccination or 12- 16 weeks with vaccination not yet valid from PART 1 & 2 countries have undergone a rabies antibody titration test  not required if animals come from PART 1 & 2 countries comply with other preventive health measures –anti-parasite treatment against Echinococcus for dogs destined to FI, UK, IE, MT accompanied by an identification document –animal health certificate or pet passport (model for MS or Part 1 countries) SERBIA is not listed in PART 1 or 2  puppies without vaccination not allowed  rabies antibody titration test required  only puppies more than 7 months are allowed

9. Part B: Invertebrates, ornamental aquatic animals, amphibia, reptiles, birds, rodents and rabbits only through traveller’s point of entry mandate to provide conditions on –marking or describing –preventive health measures –health certificate –authorised territories and third countries so far national rulers apply No rules at all for other mammals e.g. hedgehog, wallaby, raccoon protected species e.g. apes, tigers NEW: Regulation on invasive alien species

10. Derogation Regulation 576/2013 Art.32: ”MS may, in exceptional situations, authorise the non-commercial movement into their territory of pet animals not complying with the conditions laid down to Artt. 6, 9, 10 & 14” permit applied and granted in beforehand pet animals isolated for the time needed to fulfil the conditions ”Exceptional situations”: where the need for urgent departure of the owner arises due e.g. to: sudden natural disaster political unrest other force majeure relating to the owner

11. Import of dogs, cats and ferrets may only be imported from territories or third countries listed in –Annex I to Decision 2004/211/EC –Part 1 of Annex II to Regulation (EU) No 206/2010 –Annex II to Implementing Regulation (EU) No 577/2013 (PART 1 & 2)  derogation: dogs, cats and ferrets destined for approved bodies, institutes and centres if territory and third country of origin and transit are listed in the Annex II to Implementing Regulation (EU) No 577/2013 they need to comply with the following conditions –be marked by a transponder or tattoo (applied before 3.7.2011) –come from registered holdings or businesses –examined by a vet within 48 h prior dispatch –have received an anti-rabies vaccination –have undergone a rabies antibody titration test  not required if animals come from PART 1 & 2 countries –comply with other preventive health measures ( Echinococcus) –accompanied by a health certificate (Annex to Decision 2013/519/EU) signed by official veterinarian shall enter via a veterinary border inspection post
