2 Nursing Education in Arizona In Arizona, 30 RN pre-licensure programs are approved by AZ Board of Nursing  22 associate degree programs  7 baccalaureate degree programs Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) 10 MCCCD colleges serving approximately 250,000 students  “One Maricopa” concept embodied in “One Nursing Program” model  MaricopaNursing- consortium agreement between 8 campuses to allow shared resources, common curriculum, centralized student placement process  Prepared 30% of AZ nursing graduates in 2014 Recognition of need for BSN-prepared nurses  Collaboration between Glendale Community College and Northern Arizona University resulted in creation of concurrent enrollment program (CEP) in fall 2011  CEP now includes 13 community colleges and 7 RN to BSN university partners

4 Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP) Students receive information/advisement regarding various university partner requirements: Complete all pre- and co-requisites for MaricopaNursing and university partner Applications accepted twice yearly Students select preferred MaricopaNursing college and university partner Applicants scored by rubric: GPA, admission test scores, prior degree Applicants notified of admission Complete 1 semester university coursework Begin MaricopaNursing 4-semester program with concurrent enrollment in online RN to BSN university courses ADN and BSN degrees conferred concurrently or BSN conferred one semester after ADN completion GPA requirement 2.5 – 3.0Required BSN credits 30 – 45 Prerequisites varyTransfer credits accepted 75 – 90 Tuition $11,000 - $17,000Financial aid consortium agreement

7 Student Advisement MaricopaNursing information sessions offered on all campuses by nursing advisors  Overview of education pathways to RN with emphasis on BSN options  Individual advisement for further clarification CEP information sessions offered on all Maricopa campuses and online Individual advisement for personalized plan for CEP completion CEP applications accepted twice yearly by nursing advisors Students rank preferred Maricopa site and preferred university CEP Applications reviewed by Maricopa advisors, then forwarded to university advisors Nursing advisors on site at each Maricopa campus for advisement as needed while students progress through program University advisors and CEP coordinators available for students
