2. Future Board of Education Reports  I would like to keep the Board of Education reports concise, pertinent, and efficient  Board reports will be posted by the last school day prior to the Board meeting  The goal is for each report to last approximately 5 minutes  This is, of course, with Board of Education permission

3. Standards Based Grading and Reporting  Goal: Begin to implement SBG&R district-wide by the start of the 2014-2015 school year  December 6, 2013 in-service focused on this concept  Book Study  Fair Isn’t Always Equal  Rick Wormeli  Key steps to implementation  Convince staff members this is good for our district and students  Attain Board of Education approval to implement these grading and reporting procedures  Communicate the plan with students and parents. Make sure the students and parents understand the plan.

4. Vehicles  Both vehicles recently purchased by the district are on site and in use  2014 Dodge Grand Caravan – Woodhouse, Sioux City  2014 Chevrolet Cruze – Janke Auto, Pender

5. Winter/Holiday Break  No school from December 21 through January 5  Sports moratorium, December 22 – December 26  I will be out of town from December 21 through December 27 but will be accessible via cell phone  January 3 – certified staff contract day

6. In Memory of Sheila Nichols  May 3, 1960 – November 18, 2013  PPS employee from August of 1999 until the time of her death  Memorialized by PPS in the following ways (Policy 3203)  Newsletter (December/January)  Yearbook  Plaque to be displayed for 10 years  Memorials have been directed to 3 places; 1 of them is Pender Public Schools  Sheila will be dearly missed
