Mistakes can be made … to err is human. We are not perfect. We want to hear your thoughts and feedback but ask that you present it with respect. Football Mania!! A Parent/Guardian ONLY Fundraiser – Kids may NOT participate in this fundraiser This is a Football Themed Fundraiser – Involves Selling Instant Entry Sweepstake Tickets for $20 per ticket which provide access to download select digital music and books – Tickets Provide an Opportunity to Win Over the Course of 17 weeks of Professional Football If successful, we’ll be done with fundraising by the end of August!! at Equipment Pick Up

How it works Each unique ticket has 17 boxes – Each box represents a week – Each box has 3 randomly assigned teams listed Winning ticket is determined weekly – Add up the points scored by the three teams on the ticket – Ticket owner can check website to see if he/she won – 6 chances to win weekly Four Highest Score Tickets Two Lowest Score Tickets – Minimum Prizes: $500, $200, $100, $50, $50, and $25 – 1 in 48 chance of winning once during the sweepstake period Two Grand Prizes (highest & lowest score of the season)

Player Safety is First Athletes won’t be subjected to – Verbal abuse – Physical abuse Helmet should never be grabbed or slapped Heat Policy* – Limitations begin when heat index hits 100 degrees Lightning/Weather Policy* – Action plans in place to protect athletes and coaches – 30 minute practice suspension – Take cover at Middle school, library, and covered areas * Posted on website

Coach Communication Issues may arise during the season Schedule time to discuss with coach – Outside of practice and game situations – In private, away from all kids – When both parties have time to discuss If escalation is needed – First talk to Assistant Director assigned to your level – Second talk to Director- Tom Halloran – Finally, talk to the President- Julie Marcus A formal grievance policy is contained in our bylaws and is posted on our Web siteur website

Concussion Testing Required for the following – All 10 year olds – Any first year player 11 and up – 11 yr olds and up that were not tested last year Administered by Grayslake Colts Aug 1 st @ GCHS 10am – 12:00pm Aug 2 nd @ GCHS 10am – 12:00pm Approximately one hour screen locally

Big10 Competition at a high level Comprised of the best, most capable athletes Selected first, based on performance during evaluations Minimum of 18 players per team with at least one team per town No TCYFL mandated minimum number of plays per athlete – However Grayslake requires 10 plays per game per athlete Primarily compete on Sunday but not always Emphasizes instruction, development, and participation 11 on, 11 off Teams are drafted from the pool of players remaining after Big10 & MAC Games occur on either Saturday or Sunday Pac10

Equipment Handout $50 deposit by check will be required – no exceptions All accounts must be paid up-to-date Parents are not permitted in the barn, no exceptions! Practice All practice are held at Central Park Parents are encouraged to watch but cannot enter the practice area Bring large container of water – Drink 14-20 ounces per hour – Drink at least 20 ounces one hour prior to practice Wear sunscreen and bug protection Dress appropriately based on the weather

Practice Weeks 1-3 Central Park Parking Do NOT park in the Manor Subdivision or in no parking areas near circle Use Central HS if live North or West Use Aquatic Center or Middle School if live South or East Central HS Aquatic Pool GMS

Practice Weeks 1-3 Wear shorts, t-shirt helmet, and cleats until instructed otherwise (we will gradually add equipment) Week 1 Skills Camp 5:30-7:30pm Week 2 Conditioning 5:30-7:30pm- TCYFL mandates 10 hours of Football conditioning prior to full contact Week 3 Evaluations 5:30-7:30pm- Includes; speed, blocking, tackling, ball carrying, etc. Coaches will assemble a Big 10 team from top rated athletes. Remaining will be drafted to a Pac 10 team. No cuts. Team assignments will be announced the following Monday.

Games Scheduled by the TCYFL, please be patient – Big 10 schedules published first – Pac10 schedules follow slowly First game is Saturday, August 29 th – Regular season games held weekly for nine weeks – Games are played on Labor Day weekend and Columbus Day weekend Posted on the TCYFL website, www.tcyfl.netwww.tcyfl.net – Schedules – Results / Standings – Directions to each game location – Check frequently as locations, days, times can change

Games Players must arrive well before game time (usually 90 minutes) for warm up and weigh in Games may begin up to 15 minutes before published start time at discretion of referees Games are approximately 90 minutes long – Fly: Two 20 minute halves – Bantam: Four 8 minute quarters plus 8 minute halftime – Feather & Middle: Four 9 minute quarters plus 9 minute halftime – Light & Heavy: Four 10 minute quarters plus 10 minute halftime Be respectful of athletes, refs, fans, and other teams

Home Games Home field is typically Aquatic Field (Saturday) or Central High School (Sunday) – Dependent on weather and field availability Parents responsible for clock, chains, and yard markers Parents responsible for concession duty unless bought out Parents aren’t allowed on the field – Injured players will be attended to by athletic trainers and field staff – Only enter the field if requested to do so by field staff No dogs allowed! No alcohol allowed!

End of Season Final regular season weekend October 24 th & 25 th Playoffs for three weeks Team parties Equipment Turn In – Scheduled for a weeknight after play is done – Clean equipment Wash pants and practice jersey Wipe down helmet, shoulder pads, thigh pads, etc – Keep game jersey – Turn in on scheduled day
